How Much Does a Tree Survey Cost?
Our tree surveys start at £249. That covers a small garden site with a few trees and little travel. Larger sites, more trees and additional reports increase the fee, so most jobs fall within the ranges below. Every quote is free and fixed-fee, usually sent within 12 hours, and the price you're quoted is the price you pay.

What affects the cost of a tree survey
-
The number of trees. More trees mean more time on site and more to record and assess.
-
The size and layout of the site. A small back garden takes less time than a large plot or a wooded boundary.
-
Access. Trees behind locked gates, on steep ground or across neighbouring land can take longer to reach.
-
Travel. Sites further from us take longer to reach and cost more to travel to.
-
Which reports you need. For risk and mortgage work, the report is included in the fee. For planning, the BS5837 survey and Tree Constraints Plan come first; if your project also needs an Arboricultural Impact Assessment or Method Statement, those are priced on top.
FAQs
A BS5837 survey and Tree Constraints Plan starts at £249 for a small site. If your LPA is likely to need an Arboricultural Impact Assessment or Method Statement, those are priced on top, from £175 each. Send us the site address and plans for a fixed-fee quote.
A tree inspection, also called a tree condition or risk assessment, costs £249 to £950+. The fee depends on how many trees need assessing, how spread out they are, and access around the site.
Two sites rarely need the same amount of work. The range shows what most jobs cost; your fixed-fee quote gives the exact figure for your site before you commit.
Yes. Quotes are free, fixed-fee and usually sent within 12 hours.
No. Your BS5837 quote prices the survey and each report separately, so you can instruct them together or one at a time as your LPA's requirements and your project's stage dictate.
